We know starting something new can be intimidating. We are here to help make your experience as easy and comfortable as possible. Check out our short guide on getting started below.


Pick your first class – Check out our Class Schedule and choose an instructional class to start with. We highly recommend new students attend a Fundamentals class for their first visit.

Signup online – Let us know when you plan to begin your trial. We will reach out and answer any questions you might have before starting.

Dress appropriately – Wear tight fitting athletic clothing without pockets, zippers, or buttons. Check out our Dress Code for details on acceptable attire. If you need some gear, we have quality shorts and rashguards available for purchase at the front desk.

Your first week of training is free – We offer a 7-day free trial so you can sample our clean facilities, top notch instruction, and welcoming culture.


Arrive a few minutes early – Be sure to show up a few minutes before the start of class so our staff can walk you through the signup before you begin training.

Remove your shoes at the door – Help us keep our facilities clean by keeping shoes off our mats.

Meet our staff – Stop by the front desk and our friendly staff will get you signed up and ready to go.


Come with friends – Training with friends is a blast, and it can help ease any nervousness on your first day.

Introduce yourself – We have a friendly and supportive culture, and everyone at the gym knows what it’s like to step foot on the mats for the first time. They can help support you as you start your journey.

Stay hydrated – Martial arts is a great workout, so make sure you replenish your water throughout the session. We have cool water for you to drink whenever you need it.

Grab some gear – Visit the front desk to grab some cool NESF gear. We have t-shirts, hoodies, shorts, and rashguards.


Not at all! Martial arts is a fantastic way to get in shape, and you can strat without any experience or physical conditioning.

Our gym welcomes beginners and we are excited to help you get started! Just show up a few minutes before any class on the Class Schedule and our friendly staff will get you started on your free trial.
