Wear What You Want, Within Reason

General Dress Code

  • No shoes beyond the reception area. Remove footwear within the reception area. (sport-specific footwear unused outside is permitted on mats)
  • Always wear a top. Shirtlessness is only permitted in changing areas.
  • No see-through clothing. Bright lighting reveals more than expected—check your attire and how it stretches during movement.

What To Wear On The Mats

  • No pockets, zippers, or buttons—these could lead to injury or damage the mats.
  • Tops must cover chest, shoulders, and midriff. No tank tops, v-necks, or crop tops.
  • Bottoms must be double-layered. Compression shorts and spats must not be see-through.
  • No excessively loose clothing. Loose t-shirts must be tucked in.
  • No jewelry. Remove items that could cause injury or damage mats. (reasonable exceptions for religious/personal significance)

Points On Hygiene

  • Always use footwear in the bathroom. Wash hands thoroughly before returning to training.
  • Keep fingernails and toenails trimmed short.
  • Wash all training clothes after each session. Disinfect gear regularly.
  • Shower immediately after training.
  • Do not attend class with rashes, wounds, or skin issues. See a doctor before returning to the mats.
